In 2020 WGI launched Lyra, an innovative app offering literacy education globally. Utilizing speech recognition and touch screen analysis, Lyra teaches reading and writing skills through interactive modules. Lyra engages users of all ages - offering an accessible and engaging learning experience.

Why Lyra Was Created:

In the wake of the global COVID-19 pandemic, WGI faced an unexpected challenge as our traditional programs became unfeasible. Forced to reimagine our approach, the digital landscape emerged as the sole solution. Lyra was born from this necessity, offering a scalable platform to continue our mission of fostering literacy skills, ensuring that access to education persists despite challenges.

Lyra's Impact So Far:

Since its inception, Lyra has made a global impact, reaching over 15 thousand users across 23 countries. Also adopted by non-profits and school districts in the United States, Lyra has offered countless individuals essential literacy skills. It has transcended geographical boundaries to empower learners globally.

 

WGI has set the ambitious new goal of teaching one billion children to read and write by 2030. To support this goal, Lyra is undergoing a comprehensive transformation. The app is advancing to comprehensively cover K-5 literacy, featuring redesigned interfaces, enriched lesson plans, and an enhanced user experience.
