Who We Are

In 2014, a 14 year old named Chance Wilson noticed something odd: many of his eighth grade peers were unable to read. Galvanized to action, Chance founded the Wilson Global Initiative (WGI) and began a mission of spreading literacy all over the world. Scroll down to see the story told on NBC’s The Today Show.

Baton Rouge, LA: Through our You Can Read program we mobilized volunteers into local schools Winbourne Elementary and Children’s Charter School to teach students how to read and write. Supported locally by Coca-Cola and Albemarle Corporation.

Teaching one billion children to read and write by the end of the decade.
